Meet The Animal
Beavers are one of the largest rodents in the world and are semiaquatic. They spend most of their days building their dams and lodges where they have underwater access points to dry areas to sleep in. These dams are to protect them from predators and give them easier access to food in the winter.
Their Behavior
Beavers have large webbed feet that help them glide through the water easily. They are able to hold their breath underwater for up to 15 minutes! Beavers are crepuscular as well as nocturnal, so they are primarily out at twilight.
